Local knowledge in programme delivery

Eight interns contributed to Omuto’s work in 2025. Our annual report describes their field presence and local knowledge as important to the expansion into Butambala and to work beyond Mpigi.

The report presents the internship as a place to contribute to programme delivery and design, rather than only observing the team at work.

Part of a longer pathway

By the end of the reporting period, 21 interns had passed through Omuto since 2020. Three former interns had become full-time staff, while other alumni returned to volunteer and mentor.

The report proposed developing this experience into an Omuto Changemakers Academy. That was a forward-looking plan, rather than a statement that an academy was already operating.
